Growing A Farmer , by Kurt Timmermeister, was a very interesting read. It was fascinating seeing his progression as a farmer, from the beginning not knowing a single thing, through all the trials he faced that every farmer does. He described every scene with such great detail; it brought his story to life and made it easy to imagine what he saw. I still believe that the beginning few chapters when Kurt was searching for a new house were the best. It was amazing that he was capable of leaving his old life behind, the only one he had ever known, for a completely different and solitary life. This part of the book sent me a message that sometimes you need to go out of your comfort zone in order to find what you truly love. This is especially relevant in my life because I am still unsure what I want to do after graduation. I now believe I need to take the leap of faith and stretch out of my comfort zone, which could have a major impact on my life.

Host Being a host at a restaurant may seem like an easy job, but it takes a lot more skill than believed. One might think that all a host does is take the customers to their table and give them their menu, but that is far from true. The daily tasks and responsibilities of a host have a major impact on how the restaurant runs. The beginning of Growing A Farmer has been very intriguing to me. The way Timmermeister was able to leave the only life he had ever known, for another vastly different lifestyle is incredible. Alongside that his ability to not be concerned about the issues that were to present themselves due to the condition of his home is astonishing. Most people would put a lot of thought into the work to come, but instead Timmermeister lives in the moment and knew exactly what he wanted. He knew from the second he saw the property that he was meant to be there. I think this book pertains to my near future in the sense that I am not entirely sure what career path I want to choose, but making the leap of faith and trying something new can come with great rewards. So far, it has shown me that putting yourself in a position that you are not familiar with can help you grow as a person and find out what you truly love.
